Windows

Sliding Windows
Sliding windows are often considered a little old fashioned, but this could not be further from the truth. They offer a fantastic alternative where conventional opening windows could cause considerable difficulties due to a lack of space or safety concerns.

Around walk ways, decks or perhaps where other safety concerns are apparent, sliding windows are ideal. They can provide views unencumbered by obstructions.

Special options available include security screens, bug screens and shutters.

Windows That Push Out
There are two kinds of windows that push out, those hinged at the top are Awning windows, those hinged at the side are Casement windows. Awning windows can be used in a variety of locations in many formations. Special thought needs to be given to allow people to walk past the open window and to reduce the possibility of objects falling out of an open window.

A great range of catches and security devices are available with all window options.

Thereare a multitude of windows to choose from. Each have their own unique properties and uses. The following will show you how some of the window solutions can be applied.

Windows That Have You Cornered
These windows all have one thing in common - practicality and light.

Known as garden or glasshouse windows because of their sides and a 'roof' these windows protrude from the building. Excellent for adding contrast to an existing 'box' shaped home or as a feature to draw light into a room.

Bay windows also protrude from the building but do not have a roof. Great for creating that special little space with uninterrupted views.

Corner windows are windows where glass joins on glass with an apparently seamless joint. A very common yet stylish feature evident in many new homes, it is an ideal feature when renovating.
